SZAFA 2.0

"SZAFA" is an interestingaccentin the traditional frontage of Mińska Street. It stands out because of its architecture, but also because of size and withdrawn line of buildings. The nature of the building and the varied height of its stores suggest that in the past it could have hosted workshops. Currently, due to its technical condition, it is used as office space.

The concept assumes introduction of new functions into the building: service premises available to the public and repeatable mini units intended for flats or work areas.

It was also assumed that the area around the building would be transformed by way of the arranging public space around Mińska Street and an opening in the "SZAFA" ground floor, leading through the plot of the Wars building to the Soho area.

On eight repetitive floors (from +1 to +8) units with small areas were located, occupying one, two or three modules of the building structure.

The top +9 floor has the character of a pavilion on the roof. Large commercial premises are envisaged there, the preferred function is related to recreation and sports. An additional advantage of the pavilion is a panoramic terrace with a wonderful view of Warsaw.

The dense units are complemented by shared areas - glazed double height loggias, constituting unique space in the floor and façade scale

The rational structure of the building and the above-average height of the existing floors is an excellent base for creating compact metropolitan units. Not necessarily a large area, but a unique space.
